Our little black Miniature Schnauzer, Bismark, has battled chronic pancreatitis for many years. As a breed, Schnauzers are unfortunately predisposed to developing pancreatitis because they often struggle to metabolise fats efficiently.

There were times when Bismark became critically ill. He would stop eating, vomit repeatedly, had bloody diarrhoea and lose his happy sparkle. Every episode left us asking ourselves the same question:

How can we prevent this from happening again?

Instead of simply accepting that pancreatitis would become a regular part of his life, we started researching canine nutrition, fresh ingredients and the role that food plays in inflammation.

That journey eventually became Bismark's Bistro.
